Peacefulness is represented in Norway by the Peacefulness Institute which offers various programs to support individual peace and peaceful communities.
Our purpose is to promote peace in the world.
To achieve this goal, we encourage self-development and evolution of consciousness for all to become ambassadors for peace in our families, in our circles of friends, with our colleagues, in our living communities, our villages or towns, in our countries, in the world.
The Institute offers simple Peacefulness and Heartfulness tools for individuals, groups, and communities.
Peace starts with us!
“Cultivating peace in our hearts extends to our words, thoughts, behavior, actions and all aspects of life that allow our innate nature to be unveiled, this is peace. Peace is not merely an absence of war; it is an inner harmony. This individual harmony is the key to global peace. War is not the only threat to the peace and survival of humanity, but to our biosphere as a whole. When we develop a meditative state that becomes our nature, our mere presence alone promotes peace.”
Kamlesh D. Patel, known as Daaji, guide of the Heartfulness movement. The Daily Guardian, India, December 2023

Our philosophy has its roots in the philosophical and spiritual traditions of ancient Indian literature such as the Vedas and the Upanishads, and classical yoga texts like Patanjali`s Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita.More recent texts on the philosophy of yoga, e.g. those by Swami Vivekananda, are also important references.

Peacefulness is also underpinned by a modern scientific approach integrating the philosophical and spiritual traditions and experiences with the mental constructs, physiological states, and neuroscientific concepts addressed in scientific research. Studies have explored and documented the effects that the associated Heartfulness meditation practices have on human beings.
